Hi, I’m Jen, the girl behind Phileo Photo Co. I’m a wife, mama to two wild little boys, Oregon adventurer, Jesus follower, and photographer with a slightly obsessive appreciation for the moments you probably didn’t realize were worth remembering.

I’ve always loved photographs, but becoming a mom changed the way I see them.

Because these days, I understand just how quickly everything changes. The tiny hands that won’t stay tiny. The belly laughs you wish you could bottle up. The way your husband looks at you when he thinks you aren’t paying attention. The chaos of everyone trying to get out the door. The ordinary Tuesday that you don't realize you'll one day miss terribly.

That’s the stuff I want to photograph. Not perfection. Not a perfectly posed version of your life. Your life. The messy, beautiful, hilarious, ordinary, sacred pieces of it.

Phileo is a Greek word for love, the kind of love rooted in friendship, affection, community, and genuine care for one another. It’s the heartbeat behind this little business and a big part of why I believe photography should feel less like a photoshoot and more like spending time with someone who genuinely wants to know your story.

I’ll probably ask you to run around, pull your kids into a giant group hug, kiss your husband when you weren't planning on it, and do something that makes everyone laugh. I’ll photograph the details you didn't think to ask for, the in-between moments, and the things that happen when you stop worrying about whether you're “doing it right.” Because I want you to remember how it felt.

My work is warm, earthy, a little nostalgic, and intentionally imperfect, a mix of gentle direction and real moments. I love golden light, windblown hair, bare feet, Oregon forests, adventurous couples, loud kids, quiet moments, and the kind of photographs that somehow become more meaningful every time you look at them.

When I'm not behind the camera, I'm probably chasing my boys, planning our next adventure, teasing my amazing husband, or enjoying taking the scenic route.

And underneath all of it, I’m just really grateful to be here.
